For this project, I wanted to depict the theme of abusive relationships in a very abstract way. Most stories often focus on the abuser, the acts the abuser did, and rarely show just how it can affect everything/everyone else. It truly ruins the "nature" of future relationships. I wanted to portray the relationship as a garden/delicate piece of nature that needs nurturing, attention, and love that withers away as the abusive tendencies continue without showing the abusive acts. By showing how the relationship withers away, gets fragile, and has elements torn off leaving a tear, it focuses more on what is quite often ignored -- the aftermath.
